Your vacation begins with arrival into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), the commercial airport serving Cabo San Lucas.

Traveling from SJD Airport to the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos (approx. 33 miles, 45-75 min) is best done via pre-booked private transfer or shared shuttle. The route runs along the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas.

Below are a few self-serve transportation options. These can be pre-booked online and have been confirmed as reputable transportation options by our hotel contact.

If you would like for us to book your ground transportation, we will use the company that is endorsed by and works with the hotel. The cost is significantly higher. If we arrange your transportation, a fee of $500 per room (1-4 guests) will be added to your event cost.

If you opt to arrange your own transportation, pre-booking is highly recommended to avoid delays and solicitation at the airport.

Transportation Options

Recommended:

  • Private Transfer/Airport Shuttle: The most common option, with travel time typically between 60 to 75 minutes. Services like the ones listed below provide direct, door-to-door, or shared, multi-stop options. Cost will vary based on the vehicle type, size and number of people in your party. Typical cost for a couple is $100-$125 each way.

  • Hotel Recommended Service: The service vetted and recommended by the hotel is available for direct booking as well. While the cost is significantly higher, you might be more comfortable using a service provided by the hotel. The cost for a group of 1-4 guests is $243 each way. There are other options available for larger groups.

Other Options:

  • Uber: Uber is available from SJD Airport to the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos but cannot pick up directly at the terminal curb due to local regulations. Passengers must walk to the main highway or a designated spot outside the airport property. The cost is typically around $50-$80 USD for a 45-55 minute ride.

  • Rental Car: Taking the main highway (often labeled as the "Corridor" or Toll Road 19) south towards Cabo San Lucas is straightforward.

Key Tips

  • Pre-booking: Securing a transfer in advance is recommended for better rates and to avoid waiting.

  • Location: The hotel is located in the Diamante area on the Pacific side, not in the main tourist center of downtown Cabo San Lucas.

  • Stop Option: Private transfers often allow for a stop at a grocery store (e.g., Walmart or City Club) for supplies.

  • Travel Time: Traffic can impact travel, so allow extra time, especially during peak tourist season.
